What we collect

If you fill in the form on the website for us to check when your support expires, we collect information about the hardware in question such as type and serial number and contact details such as name, email address and phone number.

What we do with the information we gather

The information you give us is vital for us to be able to provide the best possible service for you and to find the best solutions to your query. We use the information you give us to find out when your support expires and to contact you to give you an offer to renew your support. We also use this information to contact you regarding our products, services and company information. We also use the information for our internal records for analysis to improve our company and give you a better and tailored service.

Third Parties

We may utilise the information provided to support marketing our products and services. We may also provide personally identifiable data to partner firms which may include third party marketing software companies, agencies, and data aggregation companies. Such data may only be used by these firms for the purposes of carrying out our marketing and data activities in accordance with this privacy policy, and not for their own purpose.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Your Information is protected by our state-of-the-art technology. We have implemented security protocols and measures to protect the information we maintain about you from unauthorised access or alteration. These measures include internal and external firewalls, physical security and technological security measures, and encryption of certain information. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and although we take all reasonable steps to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of it. Any transmission of personal data to the site is at your own risk.

Communications

All telephone, email, fax and other communications with EPD Asia Pacific of any kind may be recorded for company reference. Such data is only disclosed to third parties who have an involvement in such communications.

Email tracking

By also registering to receive our email communications, you consent to the use of open tracking, click tracking and cookies within them.

Our emails track, at an individual level, whether the user has opened and clicked on the email. To track an ‘open’ in an HTML email, our third party delivery providers embed a tiny, 1×1 pixel transparent .GIF at the bottom of the message – it’s called a ‘tracker image’ or ‘web beacon’. Whenever a recipient opens their email, and the tracker image is downloaded from their servers, this is instantly tracked as an email open. Clicks are tracked on an individual basis by placing a cookie to track the traffic generated for each url link.

We rarely use the open and click information at a personal level, rather we use it to understand open and click rates on our emails to try and improve them. Sometimes we do use the personal information e.g. to re-email people who didn’t click the first time. If you are not happy with this and want to be sure that none of your email activity is tracked then you should opt-out of our emails.

Unsubscription

We remain dedicated to providing notice and choice to all of our customers. When someone chooses to be removed from our database via our unsubscribe process, they will no longer receive any offers from us. Using our ‘unsubscribe’ links within our emails is an instant service. Replying to emails and manually requesting removal can take up to 72 hours to be actioned by a member of staff. If at the point of unsubscription, you are part of an email campaign that is already in the process of being sent, this may still be received, though no new communications will be delivered. Please note, however, the customer may still receive offers from other partners with which he or she has subscribed. The subscriber must visit those websites to unsubscribe.

Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Social Buttons

On many of the pages of the site you will see various ‘social buttons’. These enable users to share or bookmark the web pages or visit our profiles. In order to implement these buttons, and connect them to the external site, there are scripts from domains outside of our site. You should be aware that these sites are likely to be collecting information about what you are doing all around the internet, including on our site. So if you click on any of these buttons, these sites will be registering that action and may use that information. In some cases these sites will be registering the fact that you are visiting our site, and the specific pages you are on, even if you don’t click on the button if you are logged into their services. You should check the respective policies of such sites to see how exactly they use your information and to find out how to opt-out or delete such information.

Controlling your personal information

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties. You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998 (registration number: ZA153427). A small fee will be payable. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please write to 2 Airport West, Lancaster Way, Leeds, LS19 7ZA, United Kingdom.
